Olympic National Park Trip
Visit 2, Day 3
Sept 2, 2026
Lake Crescent
Started off this day strong with a stop at the Lake Crescent lodge and got our national park stamp and a mocha
Mt Storm King Hike
Next up was Mt Storm King, our biggest + hardest hike of the week.
Had a bit of a hard time getting a spot at the parking lot, even though it was a weekday and still pretty early. We circled like 3 or 4 times until finding a spot as someone else left.
It was ~2.5 miles each way, and was an 'out and back'. There was a kinda sketchy slippery climb to the final peak. Folks had left ropes along the trail to the top to make it easier, otherwise it'd be a lot more scary.
Julia and Jenna didn't end up climbing all the way up since it wasn't super safe. That was kinda a good call cause on the way down we went off the trail on all 4's by accident trying to get down and it got really steep and sketchy until we realized we were going the wrong way.
It got a little cloudy, but we could still see lake
Marymere Falls Hike
We walked the last quarter mile to see the Marymere falls after doing Storm King. This felt like a walk in the park after getting to the top of the previous one.

Grannies Diner
Stopped for burgers and milkshakes at 'Grannies diner', super good, and extra fun that they had emu's in the back

Forks
Visitor center
Did a quick stop at the Visitor's center before they closed.
This is super funny, and worth a stop, they have all kinds of Twilight merch.
And they have Bella's truck!

Variety store shirt
We also stopped at the variety store in town for some surprise materials for Jade's birthday that we missed to surprise her. We found this killer shirt there

Funny book
And as a last little funny detail, the AirBNB had this funny bigfoot documentary style book. Gonna have to read that some day lol
