Olympic National Park Trip

Visit 2, Day 5

Sept 4, 2026

This was a short day, we had to get back to SeaTac to drop Lucas off at the airport (4 hours away from our AirBnb), so this was just some short stops along the way.

Kalaloch Beach

This was our first stop and really only stop. We were trying to find the Tree of Life, and looked at the wrong part of the beach initially. The tree was ~3.5 miles from here. But it was really pretty!

Sandy Kalaloch Beach with rocky coastline

Lucas spotted what was maybe a sea lion from the hike down. We stopped and watched for a few minutes to see whatever it was's head poking up here and there.

Unique sea stack rock formations along Kalaloch Beach

Forested Kalaloch Beach cliffside

They had these formations that we see in the Chuckanuts regularly. Interesting to see them so far away. These really reminded me of our trip to Capitol Reef where we saw similar formations

Tree of Life

We drove a few miles down the road to the campground and did end up seeing the tree! The beach is really wide here compared to the other beaches we visited the day before.

It was quite a bit closer to the ground than the last time I visited though. Glad to see it's still hanging on!
